We met Tim’s Mom (Sugie) and his siblings (Christine and Cindy) at Crawfish Time, along with Cindy’s husband (Toby) and son (Josh) and Christine’s son (Daniel). The crawfish were huge and very tasty; and we enjoyed catching up with family. After we finished eating, we headed to Sugie’s house to spend more time with her and Tim’s brother (Brian). As we drove back to the RV Park, we stopped at the grocery store and our post office box in Lafayette to pick up our mail that is being forwarded from Brooklyn.
On Monday, we contacted multiple RV windshield repair places in an attempt to get the rubber seal around the windshield fixed, all to no avail; no one was willing to attempt to fix it either because they didn’t do that type of repair or had done it in the past with only temporary results. So, we gave up on that repair while we were in Lafayette. Instead, we borrowed ladders from our brother-in-law, Toby, to fix a different rubber seal, the one that sits above the slide out, which was starting to come out the back end of the slide. We each climbed a ladder on opposite sides of the slide to push the rubber seal back into place and were successful (we hope permanently). At least we felt like we had accomplished one repair!
In the afternoon, Pat did some laundry and Tim got his haircut at a place called The Headquarters. Stacey did an excellent job with Tim’s hair, and he felt like his hair had finally recovered from the disastrous cut he got a few months ago (Stacey told Tim that while she does all kinds of haircuts, she specializes in “fantasy cuts,” which are cuts that add unnatural colors to your hair like rainbows or purple streaks for example).
On Monday evening, we went back over to Sugie’s house to have more time with her and Brian on our last night in Lafayette; we don’t have plans to return to Lafayette until the fall. On the way back to the KOA campground, we stopped at the grocery store again to pick up some last-minute items before driving to Texas the following day.
We were too busy visiting to take pictures of the family. SO, here is a childhood picture of Tim and his siblings!
